Organization
The promotion and organization of trials to evaluate the working capacity of shepherd dogs in qualifying competitions or other types of tests.
The Working Border Collie Association (ABCT) was founded in early 2011, with the intention of unifying breeding criteria, ensuring the welfare and improvement of shepherd dog breeds in the Basque Country, from where the desire and initiative, both in its essence and content, was forged to form an association involved in the work of shepherd dogs, with the firm and clear idea of maintaining, as intact as possible and improving the instinct and working capacity of these amazing animals.
Over time, the Association has been developing in the rest of Spain and has been ensuring better management of training and breeding actions to match those existing in all European countries and the rest of the world. In short, it was born with the sole purpose of unifying and charting a common path for the benefit of the shepherd dog.
To unify these criteria, ABCT affiliates as dependent on the International Sheep Dog Society: the ISDS (International Sheep Dog Society), adopting all its rules and criteria, which have governed worldwide for more than 100 years. The ISDS was founded in 1906 with the intention of stimulating interest in shepherding and ensuring the best management of actions through the improvement of the shepherd dog.
More information about ISDSABCT also has the help and support of KEVIN EVANS, a strong support and a clear reference in this journey. With this strong pillar, ABCT takes this initiative in a committed and responsible manner to try to do things right, knowing that the path ahead is a long and progressive one.
